Cutting Expenses is Key to Getting out of Debt: Cancel the gym membership
If you are paying for a gym membership I challenge you to save money in 2017 by cancelling the membership. I’ve saved THOUSANDS of dollars over the years by canceling our gym membership. I haven’t had a gym membership in over two years.
To put this in perspective:
- My local YMCA I used to belong to charges $71.00 per month for couples
- $852 Annually
- $1,704 for two years!
By canceling this membership I had more money in my pocket to do the things I love, like travel or go out to eat at a restaurant. Better yet I was able to use the money to eliminate debt our debt.
How do I stay fit?
Emily and I switched to solely working out at home with workout programs through Beachbody On Demand. This is a great site offering a whole host of in home workout programs. This not only saves us money, but time. We don’t have to drive anywhere, we just push play. The cost is $199 for the entire year and you get every workout program they have ever produced. Some of the programs I loved were P90X, Insanity, and Core De Force.
In addition to these programs we run, bike, and play tennis. There are plenty of things you can do to stay in shape and don’t require you having to go to the gym.
Beachbody on Demand Cost:
- $199 annually first year.
- $99 the second year.
- Total two year period: $298.
This is a total savings of $1,406! Over two years compared to our local YMCA. Also the time saved from not having to go anywhere – Priceless.
Bottom Line: If you’re looking for ways to save money and more importantly time kick the gym membership and opt for in home workouts. Emily can help you stay accountable for free once you start doing these workouts if you need the motivation.
Full Disclosure: My wife Emily sells this program so any purchases does come back to me. But I do guarantee you’ll see great results. And there is a 30-day money back guarantee.
